It is my mission to shine a light of awareness on our communication choices and bring about meaningful change in how we live and support each other
My work draws directly on the principles and practices of Nonviolent Communication and the field of Nervous System Regulation which combine to offer insights, skills and motivation to bring about the shifts we long for in our relationships.
My approach is underpinned by years of experience supporting clients through challenge and change, initially as a lawyer and subsequently as a change management consultant.
Most importantly, my passion and motivation are derived from by my experience of applying these skills to support my own personal and professional transitions and in witnessing the transformation I see in my clients.
Influencing change to contribute to well-being
Starting my career as a lawyer, I quickly noticed how traditional working practices often led to unnecessary stress for staff and increased costs for clients.
Driven to make a difference, I transitioned into change management consulting for the legal industry. Over 16 years, I contributed to organisational transformation impacting culture, learning, team-building, operations, performance management and organisational effectiveness. Realising that my work was primarily contributing to my client’s profitability rather than directly supporting improvements in work-life balance for employees, I felt disheartened and began to seek more fulfilling ways to bring my experience and skills to bear.
Around this time, I stumbled on the field of work known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and was deeply inspired.
Immediately I recognised how my perception of myself and the world might have been different had I been introduced to this way of thinking and communicating earlier in life. I was in disbelief that such fundamental life skills, so essential to well-being and human connection, were left to chance for people to discover on their own!
