Peer Mediation & Mentoring
A dedicated cohort of students are trained to mediate low-level conflicts and challenging situations that arise between peers. They also provide one-on-one support to students struggling with specific issues.
Trainings for both primary and secondary are based on the internationally-recognised empathy and conflict resolution process, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and are accredited by the Civil Mediation Council.

Communication & Conflict Resolution
Class or year groups receive training in needs-focused communication skills, equipping them to navigate difficult conversations, resolve conflicts, and make decisions that enhance everyone’s well-being.
Trainings draw on the internationally-recognised, empathy and conflict resolution process known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC), as well as the fields of relational neuroscience and nervous system regulation.

Available formats for your Trainings
Peer Mediation & Mentoring

How many students can be trained?
A cohort of between 12 and 20 students are trained to become peer mediators of younger year groups. The cohort can be made up of students from multiples year groups, from year 5 onwards.
Who else is part of the training?
At least one member of the pastoral team is required to attend the training but more are welcome.
How long does the training take?
Trainings takes place over 2 days, spread over 2 consecutive weeks The aim is to support learning and integration and to limit disruption to lesson time.
What can you expect from the training?
The training focuses on embedding skills experientially through one to one, small group and whole group exercises and role play. An awareness of visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning styles is incorporated in the approach.
Peer Mediation Accreditation
Students are eligible to apply for accreditation as ‘Certified Peer Mediators’ from the Civil Mediation Council.
DBS Check
I hold a valid DBS check.

Invest in bringing these skills in house by training your pastoral teams to administer the peer mediation training. This supports the school to spread the investment cost over many years.

Communication and conflict resolution training for students in class groups can be tailored to the requirements of each school. Some options include:
Primary Schools: One off or a series of circle time sessions of roughly 30 mins duration.
Secondary Schools: One off or a series of tutor group class sessions of roughly 30 mins
